I worked very hard at getting this picture just right but I never quite got the tree in focus.

The challenge was trying to manually focus on a subject so dark that you almost can't see it through the view finder on the camera.

With a thirty second exposure and a little extra light on the tree as the picture is being taken I learned a lot from the experience. When another opportunity like this presents itself I'll have a few more tricks up my sleeve.
